Well, at least Jim O'Brien has 6-11 shotblocker Ken Johnson returning
from his Final Four team (along with Penn and Redd).

BTW, after watching the undrafted Brad Miller play so well for Paul
Silas, I've developed a new appreciation/interest in so-called "finesse
players" like MacCulloch, Radojevic and Eschemeyer. I wonder if those
guys will get as dissed in the draft as Miller was last year. Why did a
super scorer like Miller go undrafted last year? That guy is tall, he's
wide enough, he's muscled like Ringo, and obviously has a superb scoring
touch. I guess a name like "Brad" just doesn't sound like an NBA paint
enforcer's name. It sounds like a kid who hangs around with Ken and
Barbie types and says "dude" a lot in an irritating way.

Anyway, now that Tony Battie is mostly a power forward again, the Celts'
only backup center is Eric Riley (our 7-foot green apple gummy bear). A
guy like Eschemeyer could last into the second round because people will
downgrade his skill level by the fact that he's overaged (a fifth year
senior). Also, scouts have been saying for years that MacCulloch is a
soft player, so maybe that reputation has stuck unfairly (what with a
name like "Todd"). :-)

p.s. Judging by his latest column, Peter May seems blissfully in favor
of building a perennial .500 ball club by dumping Kenny and Antoine for
Lorenzen Wright and a 1999 first round lottery pick. Sorry May, you
don't build championships in this league around impressive pure scorers
(the Clippers/Mav method), but by finding and nurturing the rare
complete player (scorers who deliver assists, rebounds or else play
exceptional defense). Any retard who has watched the game for a decade
or so can figure out what kind of franchise players win championships,
unless you are extremely stupid and (thus) blinded by the one flashy
skill that Jordan or Bird did far better (scoring) than their other
equally remarkable skills.

Antoine's raw forward skills (and competitiveness) are uncommon even by
All Star standards and if he gets him game together consistently, he
will immediately be worth ten more wins to the team (the difference
between 45+ wins talent like the Bucks and 55+ wins talent like the
Spurs). If he doesn't get his game together, we'd still be far better
off with him on the team than trading him now for a Clipper and a draft
pick. What was our amazing record this year without Antoine? Was it
better or worse than our overall record excluding the month of March
(which was everyone's fault, including Pierce and Mercer)?

If it was good enough for Peter May, than he really should go cover
another team. He is a retard. It's amazing he makes a living doing what
he does.
