Free agency will bequeath upon the Green Team the veteran presence
of Tony Delk who will sign for the $2 million exception. The Fleet Center
is about to be transformed into My Olde Kentucky
Home.

Great. Wonderful. Ray--you forgot to mention the C's imminent drafting
of Wayne Turner in the second round--which as you've pointed out to us
many times in the past is a virtual fait accompli. While "IL Duce" is at it,
why doesn't he package Paul Pierce (he's from Kansas, after all) and
Dwayne Schintzius to Indiana for Mark Pope, another Kentucky player,
and (what the heck) why doesn't he try to trick Larry Brown into taking
Pervis off of our hands for Nazr Mohammed. Mohammed, you may
recall, was ostensibly the "low post threat that the Celtics need," despite
the fact that his play this past season barely warranted floor-time in
Philadelphia.

While he's at it, the "Ricktator" ought to send Kenny Anderson to Phoenix
for Rex Chapman--oops! Chapman played at Kentucky before Pitino
coached there, so scratch the last idea.

And since so many list members are clamoring for veteran inside
players, why not just bring Sam Bowie and Kenny Walker out of
retirement? The coup de grace would be "stealing" Jeff Shepphard from
the Hawks for Dana Barros. As we all know, Dana's 3-point touch pales
in comparison to Shepphard's picturesque perimeter game.

I can picture it now:

Starting Lineup
PG--Tony Delk
SG--Ron Mercer
SF--'Toine
PF--Kenny Walker
C---Nazr Mohammed

Off the bench:
Sam Bowie, Jamal Mashburn, Kenny Walker, Jeff Shepphard

become violently ill.
