Pollyanna views

I have been a Celtic's fan since the late 40's and have seen many Celtic
teams. I can understand everyones feelings regarding the present state of
affairs with the Celtics but also see that many of these posts are so
negative as to almost be laughable. A few wins and everyone becomes
positive again. I guess that that is the nature of these boards and lists.

Firstly, I think the Celtics have a great coach in Rick Pitino. He has been
successful everywhere he has gone and I have no reason to doubt he will not
be successful here given time.

Secondly, I feel that Walker, Pierce, Mercer, Anderson, Battie, McCarty,
Potapenko, and Barros are potentially a very good NBA team. In the past
two years there has definately been an upgrade in talent. Do you people
think that these players will continue to play the way they are presently
playing? Do you think that they don't have a lot of potential? I know
that they are better than they are showing right now and we are definately
on the right track to having a strong Celtic team again.

Presently this team is playing with no confidence. Even though I can
understand why people at the Fleet Center boo I feel that what these players
need now is for cheers of encouragement. Antoine definately could use some
positive cheers. He's trying like hell to make something happen (at least
in the TWolves game) as are the rest of the team. I know if I were
playing poorly it would sure help if my home town fans were cheering for
instead of booing at every mistake.

I cannot recall another time in the Celtics history like this and it sure is
painful to endure. However, I feel confident that this team and coach will
right the ship. I don't know if it will be this season but I'm confident it
will happen.
