One Thing To Remember About Celtics' Cap Space

The C's should be able to free up some cap space, when the playoff-bound teams start to solidify their rosters by making trades with lottery-bound clubs. Guys like Popeye - rebounding and defensive oomph; Dana - outside shooting; and Bowen - Defensive stopper, should interest contending teams. The C's will, of course, have to take some salaries back in return, but those salaries could be of players in the last year of their contracts. With the elimination of the trading deadline, I expect an outpouring of deals when the playoffs arrive. This season, the C's will be trading away players; next season, the reverse should take place.
