Re: Just Great

If this is so, it must be played out in ways that the box score doesn't
capture. Consider these 1997-98 numbers:

TB: 65 g, 23.2 mpg, 1.1 BPG, 5.4 rpg (2.1 ORB) - translates to .23 r/minute,
or 6.9 r/30 minutes

TK:	74 g, 20.3 mpg, 1.1 BPG, 4.9 rpg (1.9 ORB) - translates to .24 r/minute,
or 7.2 r/30 minutes.

I'm not necessarily diputing that he's a more aggressive rebounder or
shotblocker, just pointing out that Knight's stats actually are slightly
better in those categories. As for his being listed at 6'11, he was measured
at 6'9 by the league prior to the draft, he was listed at 6'9 on draft night,
and his height was the source of much controversy following the draft. I guess
we'll wait until we see him side by side with Antoine. (But if he's that
talented, would Dan Issel have labeled him "El Busto?")

Finally, the upside of Travis' contract was that it made him affordable in the
long run, which was an attractive option whether we kept him or dealt him.
What if Battie has a great season this year, then he and Mercer are both up
for contract renewals??
