More on cap

I forgot, in my previous lengthy posting, about the $1 million exception and
the new, $1.75 million "middle class" exception. I wonder if Popeye would
qualify for one of those, and if he would settle for it for a year? Dontae's
contract expires at the end of this season, though from what I've heard Pitino
won't keep him around that long; on the other hand, it would be a shame to
trade him away and take on a longer-term contract just to get rid of Dontae --
we could just wait 4 1/2 months. Ellison's contract doesn't expire until the
end of next season; and Barros & Minor's in 2001, though again I doubt either
of them will be around then. That would be a nice chunk of change to throw at
somebody.
