Boston places McCarty, Garnett on injured list

(AP) - The Boston Celtics placed
forward Walter McCarty and guard
Marlon Garnett on the injured list Friday. McCarty, who sprained
a toe in the preseason, has not dressed since he played seven
minutes in the season opener on Feb. 5. Garnett, a rookie,
sprained his right ankle. He has appeared in five of the Celtics'
six games, averaging 12 minutes and one point per game. With
Pervis Ellison on the injured list since Feb. 4, the Celtics
active roster now stands at the NBA limit of 12.
