Re: The Boston Celtics Mailing List Digest V5 #314

Jim,

I'd have to agree. Why are we taking pot shots at kids trying to make a
living? Do people complain when a baseball player is drafted out of high
school, a tennis player is making millions at 16, or a high school hockey
player goes pro? I think not.... Everyone has the right to make a living
doing whatever it is they can get a job doing. If someone wants to skip
college and make 10.00/hour being a janitor, do we complain? I think this is
mostly people just wishing they could make millions playing a game.

Everyone, please be happy that a young person can leave poverty and hopefuly
provide for himself and his family for the rest of his life. If he fails in
the endevor (basketball in this case), then maybe he can play oversees or in
the CBA. Maybe someday the NCAA will give a second chance to those that fail
in the pros and had never played college ball, (this is doubtful and probably
  not a good idea anyway).

Well, let me step down from my pedestal before someone kicks me off.

Shawn
