Are "these kids doing it for the money", of course they are.  Would you 
do something that kept you on the road for 7-9 months of the year for 
nothing?  Would you expect to be paid well for a career that will only 
last into your 30s?  They could choose another career and play the game 
recreationally, but that's not going to happen when you are good enough 
to make millions playing.

I'm not trying to argue for higher player salaries.  God knows they make 
more than enough now.  But to suggest that they should be playing 
college ball for free just to prove their "love of the game" is absurd.  
I happen to think that the last place an aspiring basketball player, 
with no academic interest belongs is in college.

And as long as we're taking pot shots at people's literacy, what the 
hell is this last sentence supposed to mean?  Really, is all this "These 
kids are so stupid" talk necessary.  If I had grown up in poverty and 
was presented with the opportunity to skip college and cash in 
immediately, I know what I would do.  You might call it a no brainer.
