His airness

Well, if Jordan really wants to prove how great he is why doesn't he come
back and play regardless of where Pippen plays? It seems to me that
Rusell, at the very end of his career, brought a very veteran (read
ancient) team back from a 2-0 deficit in the Finals. This team which
featured Sam Jones in his last year along with Em Bryant at guard as well
as an ailing Satch Sanders, <doesn't it seem as though he always played
with a muscle wrap on one or both of his upper legs?>, and an assorted cast
not the least of which included Don Nelson, Bailey Howell, and John
Havlicek did not have the homecourt advantage for any series (I think I'm
right on this) but for sure not for the Finals. Did Russell moan about the
retirements of previous years when he lost one by one Sharman, Cousy,
Heinsohn and others? No, he just took the court, played em one by one and
somehow managed to win em all except the one year when luck finally smiled
on Wilt and the 6ers. In this day of diluted talent and me-first players
I'd think Russell could take the Nets, Magic, Bucks, Blazers (gasp!) or
even Knicks and whip ass on Jordan and his crew with or without Pip. Hell,
he'd probably even be able to get Walker to play some b-ball and then the
Cs could add #17 to the rafters.

I guess I'm going through withdrawls as I'd really like to be reading how
camp's about to open and who all's invited. Maybe I'll pop in the
videotape of the '76 triple overtimer, take a coupla deep breaths and
RELAX!
