The Celtics wanted to draft  Ratliff out of College.  However, they
expected to steal him in the second round, but the Pistons spoiled the
dream.

Opposition Free Agents of Note: Ratliff: Gorman mentioned that Ratliff
is a FA at the end of the season, and if he wants to come to the Celts
he must have made a pretty good impression.  He scored 27 points on
10-15 shooting, had 11 boards and 3 blocks.  Out of all the big people
that have been mentioned, he seems like one of the best fits for the
C's style.
