The First Kiwi In The NBA And More Notes...

Kiwi Coming

It looks like 6-10 U Cal center Sean Marks will be the first New Zealander in the
NBA. The Auckland native, impressed one and all at the Chicago camp, showing a high
level of athleticism. He's expected to be drafted somewhere around the end of the
first round.

Hit The Road Van Exel

According to Newsday's Greg Logan, Jerry West has told Nick the slightly less quick,
that he will be traded. The problem is, he has a chronic knee condition, and his NBA
career will be shortened. So, his trade value is diminished, but he's gone any ways,
because Jerry wants him gone. His agent, James Bryant, doesn't care where he's
traded, as long as it's to a contender. Logan reports, that the Knicks may have some
interest in him.

If The Celtics Are Looking For Another Backcourt Shooter...

They should consider 6-5 Slaven Rimac, a 23-year old free agent shooting guard from
Croatia. He's been doing the NBA workout scene, and has impressed the Supersonics
and the Bucks. Thanks to the Gulag nature of the Celtics' workouts, I can't tell you
if they will be one of his stops, but he is exhibiting his skills for eight or nine
clubs.

Al Harrington Looks Lost At Chicago Camp

For those of you who want the C's to draft Al Harrington, I hope you understand, that
it may be a long while before he has an impact. This point was reinforced at the
Chicago pre-draft camp, as Mike Monroe of the Denver Post says, that both Korleone
Young and Harrington looked lost "trying to keep up with the older, more experienced
players." And, also remember, the competition they faced was not top level, as the
top fifteen picks or so in the draft eschewed the camp.
