Re: Bird the Hick

Yeah, like I was going to sit and let this one fly by without a reply.
Did you really think you could post something like this on the Boston
Celtics mailing list and get by with it...HA!

Well I guess he could be popular because he was one of the greatest
basketball players of all time. He is also doing pretty well as a
coach, since his team is..FIRST!! in the Eastern Conference.

Gee that makes a lot of sense. Did you actually think while you were
typing this? He inherited a team that had been written off by most
people as too old and/or injury prone to do anything more then barely
make the playoffs. He then signed Mullin who everyone thought was
washed up and couldn't play anymore. If you ever watch any Pacer games
you will see how Bird knows how to effectively use each one of his
players.

I promise you don't sound arrogant in this post. You seem to write with
your emotions and feelings more then with the facts of the matter. Even
though you will not admit it, I am sure then you voted for Bill
Clinton. Your the type that would like he feel good politics.

Of course it was a big win for him. This was his first game coaching
against the Celtics at the Boston Gar....opps the fleet center, yuck.

The All Star game is just a meaningless game with a bunch of flash. It
almost represents everything wrong with the NBA:

1. The way the players are picked
2. The players on opposing teams paling around
3. The total lack of competition

I don't know about this part. It is a pretty bold statement to make.

He doesn't have any ties to the fleet center, he never played a game
there. You can't stand it when people tell it like it is can you.

They are 1st place in the Eastern Conference. They could be overblown,
but we will see at the end of the season.

He has been a great promoter his entire career, all he had to do was
play the game. Are you sure you are a celtics fan? I don't understand
how you could write about one its greatest players ever in this
fashion. I bet that this isn't your only favorite NBA team, rather it
is just a part of your favorite team mutual fund. Go to your other
favorite team's list and post this, but don't do it here. I will now be
erasing your future posts without looking at them.
