Expectations -Reply

Hey, you are pretty good at knocking over straw men!

The argument is not that Walker is a bumn, or that the Cs should be
winning every game, but merely that some of the extremely high praise
for Walker should be reserved until he has shown some improvement in
his areas of weakness, and that we should avoid falling into the trap of
rejoicing in a player's individual accomplishments when what really
counts is how the team is coming along as a whole.

Those poor fans who rooted for those loser knicks and hawks teams of
the 80s used to sit around talking about how great Dominque Wilkins or
Bernard King were. Sure those guys were great, but so what? they
never won a championship. I used to feel really sorry for those fans and
I don't want to see Celtics Fans go down that road simply because the
Cs are rebuilding now. In my opinon, every achievement should be
measured in the context of how the Cs are progressing to their next
championship. All I did what point out that even though Walker scored
49, he did some things (those things reflecting some of his deficiencies)
not conducive to the kind of team play that is necessary to win
championship.

Sorry to rain on your parade with some legitimate criticism, but in reality,
there ain't no parade to rain on . . . . yet.

And no I have not lost hope for the future.

Walkerscores 49 and now is called a bum by the perfectionist fans who
will no longer settle for "rebuilding" or "I'd be satisfied with more than 15
wins." Trade the whole team!!!! WE'LL NEVER MAKE THE PLAYOFFS
NOW!
