Re: More on the Anderson trade.

I like what Chris Littlefield said:
> 1) Kenny Anderson, at his best, is a much better point guard than I think
> Billups will ever be. Not saying that Billups won't be a helluva player, I
> just doubt he'll ever be a helluva point guard.

Many people have been saying Billups will be better than Anderson ever was
or will be, so this is a bad trade.

I think Billups is already a better scoring gaurd than Anderson ever will be.

I also think Anderson is a better point gaurd today than Billups ever will be.

Which do the Celtics need more right now? They need the best point gaurd
they can get. They've been creating a tremendous amount of scoring
opportunities for themselves in transition after forcing a turnover, and
have converted on very few of them, because they haven't had anyone who can
read the defense and react immediately to get the ball to the teammate with
the best scoring opportunity. Billups rarely recognized the opportunities
his teammates created for themselves, so he had to try to create oppotunities,
(most of his assists were the penetrate-to-draw-a-defender-and-dish kind)
which causes almost as many turnovers as scoring opportunities. Anderson
will find the opportunities that are already there, but have been
missed up until now, especially in transition after a forced turnover.

Billups will be awesome and incredible and a joy to watch on the highlight
films, but the Celtics need Anderson more.
