question

Hi list:

I have a question of a general nature. What prevents NBA coaches and
GM's from substantively discussing trades amongst themselves during the
lock-out? In other words, should we expect a blizzard of trades
(including Toine) to be officially announced the very day the lockout is
lifted? I can't see what prevents this from happening...

In other matters, I agree it would do Toine a lot of good to talk to Bob
Ryan about the "punk" article (sanctioned by the Celts brass!?). While I
side with young Toine on this issue, I also believe the kid needs to
occasionaly hear an "old school" perspective about what's expected of a
Celtics franchise player in terms of leadership etc.

I know Bob Ryan's too stubborn to mince words, even to the face of
Antoine's momma. In the end, I think both guys might come away impressed
with each others intensity, intelligence, good will and desire for
Celtics Pride to mean something again. At least I really hope so,
wishful thinker that I can be.

N.B. Although browser-filtering is definitely a "personal choice thing"
(thus none of my biz), maybe I'm not the only guy a bit uneasy about the
abuse we (sometimes knee-jerkedly) heap on good ol' Noah Evans. I think
it's kind of a "Lord of the Flies" thing or whatever, considering that
Noah has never been all that rude or uncivil in his replies to us, even
when we directly diss him. Plus he often adds a lot to this list IMO
whenever he evaluates individual basketball players (he sure knows more
than I do). Plus it's VERY entertaining to read "Michael DiZio vs.
Noah" and the other battle royals on this list. I actually have no idea
what I'm trying to say now. I guess I just hope Noah doesn't think we
all hate him or something. Personally, if I filtered out the word
"Noah", I'd feel for sure I might be missing half the fun.
