various issues

I haven't replied to any messages in a while so here's my views on some of
the stuff being discussed over the past week:

1) Trading for Pippen - bad idea IMO. Pippen is the perfect player for a
team that is:
	a) currently making the playoffs and needs that one extra player to get
from goodness to greatness
	b) has a superstar that needs a change of scenery (i.e. Shawn Kemp)
We don't fall into either of those categories.

2) Trading for Kemp - another bad idea. We don't want players who care
more about money and being the highest paid player on the team than the
game do we? I'd like to get a guy like Ken Griffey Jr, who took a pay cut
to help the team get enough under the salary cap to sign other players. If
he comes here he will still have a problem because Dino and Barros both
make more than he does.

3) Trading for McDyess - this one i would like if we didn't give up too
much for him.

4) Draft picks. Someone mentioned the possibility of a Billups/McGrady
backcourt, but as good as that sounds i don't think it will happen because
we still have Brown, Barros, and Minor all under contract. Two more guards
would leave us very thin up front. Let's hope that Philly passes on Battie
and we get him at #3. I don't think it will happen, but lets hope. We do
need to go big with at least one pick, so if we don't get Battie at 3 then
maybe we should take Billups at 3 and then Foyle or Cato. We could
probably move down from 6 to 8, 9, or 10 and still get either Foyle or
Cato, so maybe a trade with a team that is hoping to catch van Horn or
Mercer at 6 is the way to go.
