TAke Mercer at #3 in the Draft

With the Mercer/Walker feud apparantly nothing but press garbage,
the Celtics would be crazy not to take Mercer at the #3, assuming San
Antonio takes Duncan and Philly takes Battie. All the remaining centers
are either tweeners or extremely "raw." We would not lose much between
3-6 with regards to center prospects, because it looks like Vancouver
will take a guard, and Denver will either take a guard or Van Horn. That
leaves the Celtics with Mercer and the exact same selection of centers to
choose from at #6.
This draft is extremely deep at SGs. Taking Mercer would get the
Celtics the best one available. He can play D and create his own shot.
Assuming Boston is committed to getting a center, they will not loose
much between 3-6. The worst case scenario is take Boston will have to
take VanHorn at #6, which isn't too shabby. Mercer/Van Horn would be my
dream draft with 3 & 6, but that doesn't address the center problem.
Starting Mercer at 2 also eliminates the "Minor problem", eh eh.
