They've been discussing Odom on the usenet list, and several people say he
can't play until he's drafted, which would be next year.  But don't free
agents sign on in training camp all the time without being drafted?  Or do
they submit their names, and then when they go undrafted Become free agents?
 Otherwise, all the top players would simply not file for the draft, and
could start enormous bidding wars for their services, play only for
big-market teams, etc.
