That's correct, and that was one reason why I had mentioned in my post,
that if he joins CBA and plays for some time there, he might be eligible to
sign with the NBA as an FA. Now I don't know wat are the rules that may
prohibit a player from playing in CBA or his joining the NBA from CBA. But
this could  be a loop hole which may still be open.
