I hesitate to criticize Pitino, but after reading the globes article on
Travis "regular guy" Knight  (damn!  at least the brothers know what to do
with their millions!)  I think Wallace and Rick screwed up giving Knight an
out at three years.  For one thing, the guy is saying that if he plays well,
he's already planning to screw us for more money -- as if for the fortune
he's getting playing well isn't the absolute minimum we can expect!
 Furthermore, his out comes just as Mercer and Billups contracts are up.  We
are going to have to triple our payroll to sign all three to bird exceptions,
so forget about any FAs.  You can also expect a mondo ticket increase.  Funny
how the league screws teams for a day's wait in renouncing a player, but lets
this kind of thing go on.
