I usually try to keep out of these 
discussions because I find the old dictum 
"Gentlemen don't discuss politics religion 
and sex in the club" saves a lot of 
unpleasantness, but I had to offer a 
couple of small thoughts on that 
comment.

Estimates vary, but it's accepted that 
between 300,000 and 750,000 recently 
attended an anti war rally in London.

Subsequently, there have been a number 
of similar rallies throughout the country.

This doesn't mean that 2/3 of British 
people are against the war, as many of 
the rally attendees are like some Who 
fans we know - always at every concert.

I don't recall a single statistic here which 
indicates over 60% of British people have 
specific views on any war, let alone are 
against it.

Now I confess that I do not read every 
newspaper or listen to every news 
bulletin, so I may have missed such a 
figure and apologies if I have.
