Re: The Dark Times

UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT: What do you support - Pete Townshend no matter what
he might do, always, or What he Did (does)? Pete or his deeds? It`s all
pretty complicated ain`t it? You can love somebody but sometimes you just
can`t agree with what that someone is doing. No matter how important that
someone is to you, you cannot stand up with him in everything. We must
distinguish. We must be able to tell right from wrong and admit it, though
it does hurt when someone whom you consider to be very important and special
to you suddenly does something you WISH HAS NEVER HAVE HAPPENED - but it`s
already happened and you hate it and you hate to face it and it makes you
sick and the truth about it is very ugly. And this neither means that you
have to stop loving him, nor that what he does/has done is his whole self.
Our actions are our responsibility, for a time they do become a part of us,
a bigger or a smaller one as the occasion may be, well... like Pete`s
problem now is a part of him (that seems to be him, a synonym for him, as it
is being emphasised by the media!)- but if you listen to... er, let`s say to
the who sing my generation, or iron man, or whatever, this doesn`t make
Pete`s problem a part of you only because he wrote the songs and played the
guitar on the record! Well no matter what. Think for a moment this
absolutely same thing happened not to Pete Townshend, but to a very dear and
close friend. You would believe your friend, but would this mean you would
approve of the WAY he was doing his research? What would your actions be?
Would you support your friend? How?
