RE: John's lifestyle

Thank you for posting this Laura. Without starting a thread on religion
and antagonizing some on the list, there are certain things which we on
earth will never understand. I'm sure had he not died during the night due
to whatever was in his system, he would have died shortly thereafter,
perhaps even on stage.

We should learn to live to the fullest as long as we are here and John
certainly did. Our world is better because of his life. Let's enjoy Roger
and Pete for as long as we have them.

Subject: John's lifestyle

I have been reading with interest the letters from all John's fans since his
death. Lot's of speculation with no real personal knowledge of John, his
habits and so forth.

My husband & I knew John for the last 7 years, we worked with him very
closely and were friends. I can tell you he died of heart failure as a
result of 3 clogged arteries - 1 100% and 2 75% clogged. If any of you are
in the medical profession you know that many people die from this, are not
aware that they have the condition and many times their physician does not
pick it up in a standard physical. The heart can spasm & stop at any time
and the result is sudden and final! Lifestyle choices, high blood pressure &
high cholesterol are not required conditions to blocked arteries. It can be
simply genetic - I don't want to preach - But John was not the bad boy you
all are painting him out to be. He was a kind man, fantastic musician, great
visual artist. He loved life and simply his number was up. Nothing more -
nothing less.

One thing is for certain, he was loved and admired by many. My husband and I
feel fortunate to have been able to know him and be counted as one of his
friends. He is gone but not forgotten.
