A Pete story

A quick Pete story.  Back in '78 or '79, (it was the time of the Tommy stage
show opening in London), I wrote to Pete and enclosed a Trouser Press magazine
cover where he's seen "in action" windmilling on stage.  After several lines
of major ass kissing, I requested an autograph and had enclosed a SASE to
facilitate a response.  Several weeks later I received the magazine cover,
signed, along with my letter to him, on which he had written a very nice
reponse and also described the rigors of his recent weeks with the opening of
Tommy.  I would love to hang this piece of treasure next to my Mad Dog
innersleeve poster (recently autographed by the greatest bass player of all
time!), except for the small fact that several years ago my ex-wife burned it.
Fear not, I will replace it, anyhow, anyway, anywhere I can.
