Hey, really, man, they're just opinions. It's no big deal to me that WF
prefers the harp version over the violin version, just because *I* like the
studio violin version. That's his preference, even if he IS wrong. (JUST
KIDDING !!!!)  It's like, some people like solo McCartney, and some don't;
it's not a matter of right and wrong, and adults can discuss their
preferences without getting defensive or insulted when someone doesn't
agree with their opinion, right? (If you don't agree, screw you!)
Anyway, I would think everyone on this list DOES AGREE that the who are,
were, and STILL were the greatest (or at least ONE of the greatest) rock
bands of our lifetime, and that Townshend is (one of) the best song writers
that has ever lived. SO THERE!!

I DO, in general, agree with this, although it depends on the band. For
example, when I saw (forgive me for bringing THESE guys up) Genesis, back in
'81 or '82, it was neat to see them perform "Supper's Ready"; it was rather
faithful to the studio version, but their <cough> "art-rock" music is suited
to be faithfully reproduced live. I agree that when the Who performed live,
they were in their element, and I would expect them, with all the energy they
put forth, to sound different than the studio versions.

I definitely agree with jim. Moon, ESPECIALLY at the start of the song,
is so weak it is pathetic. (with all due respect....)

                gary.
