I am new to the Who mailing list so this may be a subject discussed which I
have missed, but I am interested in a release schedule if one exists at this
time for the who cd reissues forthcoming.

The content of these releases I believe are to be expanded versions of the
individual Who albums; being the original British versions in the case of the
first three albums. These discs are also to include as bonus tracks a and b
sides of british singles not available on albums, alternate versions,
previously unreleased tracks and the like.

Also to make way for these reissues some Who albums are to be deleted so that
their contents may be assigned as bonus tracks to other cds. To my knowledge
the deleted items are to be the American lps Who's Missing, Two's Missing,
Majic Bus (not a uk release) and possibly Odds and Sods.

The reason for these reissues is to counter-act complaints lodged against the
cds on the market at the present time, some of these complaints being shoddy
sound and cover art, no liner notes and in the case of the 60's lps, the short
playing time (about 30 minutes when a cd can easily hold 75).

These releases forthcoming hold the promise of original lp cover art, extensive
liner notes and full-length cds (about 75 minutes each thanks to bonus tracks).

Also in the liner notes for the recently released box set it is mentioned that
there may possibly be a retrospective live cd released in the future covering
the Keith Moon years. It is not mentioned but I would imagine this is to be a
two cd set. Also the two post-Moon studio albums are likely to be twinned on a
cd reissue.

As far as I know the first disc to see the light of day will be Live at Leeds
with additional material from the show. I have come across conflicting reports
on the release time for this disc. One report in Rolling Stone Magazine said
"as early as this fall" while a new releases sheet I saw at a record store said
"most likely early in the new year". The discs are to come out one at a
time over a period of 2 - 3 years.

If anyone can help me with info on release dates it would be much appreciated
and I'm sure many other people on the list would love to see this information
posted, as it arises.

                                               Thanks.
