I dispute this conclusion. A childs ability to have a career in a
professional sport is as much a product of his genetic height and physical
ability as hard work.

You make ethical implications here that I disagree with. First you imply the
moral inferiority of the players by asserting they're greedy. The owners are
equally greedy(note their constant threats to change cities and pressuring
of their cities for tax funding). To assert that the players should be
satifised with a certain amount while the owners aren't is morally
hypocritical.

While the front office might be underappreciated and undercompensated, the
players are still the reason I go to see any team play. I agree with you
that the front office should be compensated more, but not at the expense of
the players.
