Meaty, Beaty, Big & Boring
I'm finding it difficult to think of anything to say about MBBB. It's
too much a greatest hits release &, IMO, doesn't lend itself too well
to analysis.
I guess I've always been rather ambivalent about this album. I mean, I
know it's a great collection of tunes & all that. Can't deny that. But
it hasn't been one of those "reach to" albums of mine: albums I get "in
the mood" to listen to. MBBB has always been "just there."
I like the cover, etc. Great cover. And back cover. Does Daltrey have
a scab on his lip? What is that?
Maybe it's because I have so many other comps (European pressings, etc.)
with a "weirder" selection of songs that prevents me from getting too
excited about MBBB. I don't know....
I have that Canadian CD version. I guess I'll bust that out & jam it in
my car to see if it elicits any worthwhile commentary.
