The Steve Martin segment was originally shot in
Los Angeles for the 10 Years Of Rolling Stone U.S. TV
special which aired in November 1977.

No.

This was shot at John's house as you might guess
from all the bass guitars and was suggested by him.
According to John, the gold records he shoots are
Roger's! John also said that he called up the local police
to tell them he'd be shooting a machine gun on his
property and they said "okay" as if it were a
perfectly normal request! The soundtrack is the studio
version of the song, but on the video it is very sped-up.

> 6. did keith actually pull his underwear off during that interview?

Keith decides to take off his clothes, something he loved to do in public.
In the film
this sequence ends on a reel change as the camera (in a process shot) zooms
into
Keith's crotch and then cuts to a zoom out from Pete's guitar. It's a smooth
back
and forth motion in the film version but on the video there's an awkward
freeze on
Keith's red undies, then an abrupt cut to the zoom out from the guitar.

movie set or was that a rehearsal session of some kind?

Rehearsal (if you can call it that) Shepperton Studios 1977
They also played I Saw Her Standing There, again with
Keith on lead vocals.

Ringo came into this film at the end of a week of
interviewing Keith in Los Angeles in mid-August 1977
spending about 10 hours with the film crew. Keith being
whipped comes from the same week.

At the time no footage could be found, not the case anymore.

Beat Club German TV 1969
