1. nope, that was keith richards of the rolling stones. actually, that
footage of "a quick one" comes from the stones' "rock n' roll circus" BBC tv
special, which has recently been released on video and as an album.
2. the film came out in 1979, one year after the treasured keith passed on.
3. the steve martin footage came from a tv special celebrating the 10th
anniversery of "rolling stone" magazine.
4. I think it's his fish pond, i'm not too sure on that one.
5. we've all come to know John as an avid collector of guns, cars, liquor,
guitars (both bass and regular electric) and a bunch of other weird things.
6. i'm trying to figure out if keith pulled his underwear off or not as well!
actually, if you look closely, it looks like an orange-red thong. if anyone
has seen the entire russell harty interview, and knows the answer to this
one, me and i'm sure my friend here would love to know it!
7. I think "barbara ann" was just something they did to fool around on while
they were being filmed. it's one of my favorite scenes.
8. they WERE intended for the film, yes, i'm pretty sure of that. I think
those were the scenes that they wanted to edit out, but something happened
and it was too late.
9. that's another mystery to me. it IS a shame. dunno if you know this, but
the "quadrophenia" film came out the same time this one did. maybe they were
trying to save all the "quadrophenia" stuff so they can make people see the
"quad" film. who knows?
10. the "tommy can you hear me?" footage is taken from an appearance the who
made on the german tv music show from the 60's "beat club". they lip synched
to several songs off "tommy" and interview snippets with pete were shown in
between. one of those snippets is in the film where the interviewer is asking
pete this long question and the only thing pete can answer it to is, "um,
yeah", followed by a chuckle. I have that entire show in great quality if
anyone is interested.
s'been fun. ; )
