Re: A different bomb

"This is sort of what I was getting at last week, that Pete never gets to
experience The Who. He's always busy doing the show, so he can't
participate in the spiritual joining that he sees in the fans when they
listen to the music. Everybody else gets to participate in the Lifehouse
experience, but Pete is stuck outside."
Yeah, I stayed out of that one when the discussion centered on the
experience of the sound. It must be very hard for the preacher to feel what
the congregation feels. If Pete is aching to connect, he should get over
it. He has connected, he will connect further. Complete empathy is not
possible in any situation. He could no more feel what I feel at a show than
I could feel what he feels or that I could feel the same as any individual
at a show feels.
If Pete wants to get over this disconnect he should invite me over to his
place for tea. I would be happy to discuss it :-)
The cool thing about Roger and John is that they understand their role.
They perform and really only need to connect with themselves to do that
well. They don't need to understand society or an audience. I mean John
and Roger connect with their respective instruments and the material, the
audience follows along naturally.
