The Kinks, Shaking all over and Raleigh 1989

>During the bridge, is it me or does that sound just like The Ox?
>Maybe i'm just crazy.

Cory:

The Kinks song which REALLY sounds like The Who, aside from the end of UK
Jive of course, is Polly. It's got moments which are dead ringers for Happy
Jack.

>sixties, and that the Who are featured on a couple of them. Does anybody
>know what the f**k he's talking about?

Jon:

Don't know about "a couple," but I have one featuring Keith Moon. The music
behind the commercial might well be Keith and John, but I don't KNOW that.
It just sounds like it. The guitarist is probably not Pete, though it could
be. Mabe Brian or Bruce K. could answer that.
There is also one by The Yardbirds, on the double CD version of Little
Games.
FYI, Great Shakes was a milkshake in a can which you shook up before
drinking. They tasted about as bad as you can imagine they did...well, let
me put it this way: compare Tang to orange juice. Or Instant Breakfast, if
you remember that. Or maybe Space Food Sticks. There was some kind of
packaged non-refridgerated ice cream too. Oh, the `60's were replete with
strange foodstuffs...

>realized that the "EF" from that show is the one they used on "Join
>Together".

Is it? I remember that one, having been at the Raleigh show. Pete dedicated
it to "the two black people in the audience." Meaning, of course, that most
of his music doesn't seem to appeal to most black music fans, not that there
was specifically two people...there is no way he could have known that, so
large was the venue.
MY favorite song of the show was My Generation; a rather great version.
Although the first chords of Amazing Journey literally sent chills down my
spine, and the most memorable moment was during the first part of Behind
Blue Eyes, when the audience was softly singing along...it was a defining
moment.
How's your boot of that show? Mine is a rather poor audience.

Oh, and Happy Easter to all those who go in for that kind of thing.
