Summertime Blues, Bridge Set, Article Skewerings

Hey all.......

i laughed out loud at the "Summertime Blues" lyric transcription
yesterday, thanks so much for that! Priceless.
As far as the Bridge School question... i can't say for sure, but i
have a Pearl Jam boot tape from a Bridge show a few years ago that is a
little over an hour long. So perhaps you won't see a FULL show, but i can't
imagine they'd play under an hour. Here's hoping they go all night long.
In regards to the two articles posted yesterday:
i love the press. They always get it wrong, and when they don't, they
don't understand it.

>Since then, Daltrey, 55, guitarist Pete Townshend, 54, and bass player John
>Entwistle, 55, have reunited and toured a few times, but never laid down
>new tracks.

Unless you count "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting", "Fire", and
"Dig", not to mention live tracks "laid down" on recordings.

>As for sell outs? Roger Daltrey indicated to the UK wire services
> that the corporate gig would help reduce the costs of their
>appearance at the above mentioned benefits so it's a good thing... right?
> Right? We're not sure if they're dirty either.
>They may be dirty. We're looking into it.

Um, if they do three (or more) charity shows, and one for-profit show,
instead of a long tour and just keep all the proceeds (like they and most
other bands do) how is that selling out? And if they "look into it", maybe
they'll notice all the damn commercials using Who songs on t.v. every hour
of every day... ya think that's "selling out" to corporate America? How
about the ads Roger has done for watches and such? All of this makes talk
of selling out seem silly to me. If, say, Pearl Jam did an ad for ungodly
amounts of money for, say, Nike, that would indeed be selling out their
beliefs for profit. And their fans would hate them for it. The Who are too
damn old to care about perceived "selling out", they're ready to retire for
christ's sake. Why pick on them for this?

>It is envisaged that these shows will be the springboard for a new album and
>a full-scale tour, their first since they played the United States and
>Europe in 1996 and 1997 to perform Townshend's "Quadrophenia" rock opera.

"Envisaged"? i envisaged a better written article. And their first since
1997? Is that a long time ago? U2, for example, tours once every four or
five years.

>Daltrey
>is working on new material with an outside collaborator, Gerard McMahon.

This is interesting. Anyone know who this guy is?

See you all on the tour soon... hopefully.... peace&anarchy, jeffree
