I think with a slight twist you could bring it up to date.  Instead of having
the sound engineer Bobby try to bring rock to the masses, why not have him learn
of rock from an old person who was at a rock festival (or heard tales himself of
the power of rock) in the pregrid times.  He enthuses Bobby about the power of
rock to unite the masses and Bobby tries to put it into practice with the
Lifehouse.

The advantages to this are that it does tie in to today's audience and their
nostalgia for a lost time of passion and unity and makes a good role for an
older actor, say one in his mid-50's who used to be a singer for a well-known
rock band?
