Hi Everyone,Wow! what an incredible Januuary list this is turning out to be.
The Pretty Things can say what they want, the facts remain that Pete had
been dabbling with Rock Opera since the days of AQOWHA which was around 1966
and had just not written a good enough one to have released an actual record
until Tommy. We all know that Pete stole things from other people,He's gone
on record enough times. Others stole from The Who too. I have to somewhat
sympathise with the thoughts of B.W.Radley regarding the demise of Keith.
Whilst there can probably be no blame to be laid on anyone's shoulders, it
pains me and a lot of other people that those close to Keith at the time
did not try perhaps a little harder to help him. It has been documented that
on least two other occasions, due to his antics and addictions, that Keith
could have died on those occasions.1. The time he climbed out of his hotel
window and went either up or down several floors to enter Bianca Jagger's
room and scare her! How the hell he managed that in a probable drunken state
I will never know! And secondly, the time Bill Curbishley found him bleeding
from the foot in his room,he had been drinking and had cut his foot and just
sat there for hours calling people on the phone and no one would help him.
Those two events preceded his tragic death. One wonders that with those
types of experiences behind them, The family of keith, friends,The Managment
roadies, all those who had an interest in keith, and who would have probably
gained from his artistic and creative input into the band, you would at least
think that those people would want to "protect their investment" so to speak.
In other w
ords at least Zak Starkey was a terrific choice, great
drummer, after all, Keith gave him his first set of drums!. Ladies,I'm glad
that your out there enjoying The Who. Rock on. Regards, Derick.
