Re: Routine maintenence

I'd have the coolant flushed if you haven't yet; don't bother trying to do it yourself unless you
have the machine to do it with: it holds 10L and you'll only get about 5L when you drain it. I need
to get mine flushed soon as well... Argh. :-)

I'd go with a good synthetic trans fluid. I doubt there's any warranty issues. Whoever your choice
of retailers is should be able to tell you I would think.

And speaking of... I'd check with Potterman's www.parts4vws.com and Velocity Sport Tuning
www.velocitysport.com 310-952-0003. They can usually get all those items and are both reasonably
priced in my experience.

Best of luck with the maintaining!

Subject: Routien maintenence

Group,

I need to perform some routine maintenance on my GLX. I will be doing an
oil and filter change, fuel filter change, new serpentine belt, air filter,
and bleed the brakes. The coolant overflow bottle is also leaking on the
seam so I will also be replacing that. What about the coolant itself? The
car is a '97 with 54,xxx miles. It is also an automatic but I understand
there can be warranty issues if I change the tranny fluid. Is that
true? I want to order everything from one place if I can and the
thepartsbin.com seems to be the only place the has everything in
stock. Any of you have any other suggestions for on-line stores? How
about maintenance items I may have missed?

Cheers,
