RE: hard-wiring radar detector

Why go through all that? Just tap into the sun roof. It's about 6 inches
from where you want to mount it, power goes off with the ignition, and all
you need to do it splice the original power cord into the sun roof power.
Use Radio Shack telephone wire splices and you don't even have to cut the
sunroof power wires. VERY easy. Took about 1/2 hour to complete. No joke.
Just my 2 cents.

yeah just splice the cord into the back of the plug wire for the lighter
and run a two
strand from there accross the floor up the side of the dash across the
top of the dash
and then splice the orignal connector to the new wire and youve hard
wired the thing or
you can splice it into you radio wiring harness and it will come on and
off with your
radio and ignition using the normally yellow 12v/that comes on with
ignition and black
ground and just run the wire stright from the radar detector right down
into the dash
to the back of the radio.
