RE: speaker help

When I put a Blaupunkt deck in my '98 GLX, I had planned to install the
expensive 6-1/2" after-market speakers I'd taken out of my previous car.
Turns out the door speakers are that odd-ball 6-1/2"-plus size. The rear
ones are 6-1/2"-plus also, and there was some other pain-in-the-ass involved
in swapping out the rear factory speakers, too. I forget the exact problem,
but I think it was going to involve major surgery to the rear deck. So I
spent several hours adapting my good 6-1/2" speakers to the front door
openings and ended up leaving the factory units in the rear.

I was thinking of getting some new speakers for the Jetta in the near
future. Does anyone know the sizes of the speakers in the GLX? It isn't the
Bose system, it's the crappy one. I was thinking of getting a new deck ,and
then replacing the speakers at another time. Thanks for your help.
