Are you sure about that?

The VR-4 had a relatively impressive 320HP rating out of it's turbo-6
powerplant, but the AWD and AWS systems bumped the weight up to a
rediculously porky 3600+ lbs. The AWD was responsible for getting the car
to 60mph relatively quickly, usually in the high 5 second range, but the
weight proved deadly in the quarter, allowing a box-stock Z28 (rated at
275HP back then) to eat it up in the quarter. The VR-4, the Supra Turbo,
and the Z28, all had/have a top speed in the 155 - 160 range, varying
slightly on magazine test conditions and test vehicle(s) used.

On the other hand, the last iteration of the Testrosa, the 512TR, was
running in the low 4s to 60, running through the quarter faster than
everything including the Diablo (the Viper GTS was not in production at the
time, if I remember correctly, as the GTS is currently the quarter-mile
king), and was only bested on the skid pad by Ferrari's own F40. In your
favor though, I remember Testrosa's consistantly running terrible times
through the slalom, due mainly to the immensely wide rear-end, as the slalom
favors thinner vehicles highly.

Even older Testrosa's were pumping out 400+HP from that silky smooth 12
cylinder generator ... I can't imagine a late-model VR4 beating ANY year
Testrosa at anything except price ... I don't have much in the way of
statistics for the older cars though, so I may be wrong.
