I had a 95 GLX with those dam wheels.  I installed brake dust covers which
solved the problem but also looked somewhat odd.  When I bought a 98 GLX I
swapped the seven spoke wheels for five spoke wheels from a GTI on the lot.  I
also had the Mintex low dust brake pads installed.  With this combination my
wheels do not get any dirtier than the average car and require no special
cleaning methods.
