Re: What VR4 really means



Just to clear up the confusion in case it's still lingering,

I think someone else had mentioned why the guy probably had "VR4" on his
car, but just in case I'm mistaken, I'll explain what I *think* it is.
Neuspeed either used to or still does make an engine upgrade kit for the
2.0L VW engines called "VR4" - obviously a takeoff on the VR6 name implying
that it would produce some power for those who didn't have a VR6.

I believe the kit consisted of new spark plugs, new cam, chip, p-flo?? and
maybe a few other goodies, not to mention I think it also came with a
windshield banner that said "VR4".  I don't think the guy actually meant he
had a VR6 with two cylinders shaved off :-)  Look in an old EC issue and
you'll probably run across a Neuspeed ad which showed the "VR4" kit and a
banner on the side of a red Cabrio.

If we've already covered this, then forget what I just said :-\
