ticking

I have a ticking coming from inside the dash of my GLX.  It's not a knock as 
I can't find the sound when I open up the hood.  The sound occurs only after 
start up and after during spirited runs.  At first I thought my engine was 
knocking so I went with a higher Octane gas (92), that didn't solve the 
problem.  The sound only appears when i am idling and when the car starts to 
move the sound disappears.  Anybody have any ideas?

Also I bought my 98GLX used and was wondering if that year's models came 
with a video?  The reason I ask is because my 96GL had one and all the other 
newer VW's came with them as well.  If anybody has a 98 video would they be 
interested in selling their copy or making me a copy?
