Re: Brake installation costs?

Well, you can save a bunch of $$$ if you are willing to swap the rotors and
pads yourself. Not too difficult...I recently did the front rotors/pads and
rear pads on my 97. The Bently manual has ok instructions.

I got Zimmerman crossdrilled rotors for the front for $130 for the set,
Ferodo DS2000 pads were about $100 I think. Ate Superblue was $10/liter.
Redbox pads in the rear were $36, I think. I had my normal shop flush the
brake system and put in the Superblue which I provided, 1 hour labor.

I believe the recommended practice is to change the rear bearings when you
change the rear rotors. Since my rear rotors were fine, I decided to avoid
that potential hassle and save the cost of new rotors. AWE Tuning said they
would pack and install the new bearings into rear rotors pro bono if I
bought both from them, so that might be one way to go...
