Re:

No offense taken but, while I had my 98 GTI VR6 in the shop they gave me a 4
banger jetta to drive. I HATED IT!!!! It was slowwwwwwwwwww...the interior
blew and the overall handling sucked with the smaller wheels and tires. As
it turns out the dealership ended up buying back my GTI and gave me an
option for a new one(long story). Since I had a choice I drove the Jetta
GLX and it was like a completely different car. I am extremely happy with
my '00 Jetta GLX and wouldn't give it up for another GTI VR6 just because of
the extra room that it gives me. By the way...there are a couple of
differences between the GLS w/sport package and the GLX. One difference is
the woodgrain trim on the dash...another is the automatic dimming
rearview...climatronic climate control...rain sensitive wipers...a few minor
others.

just my .02 worth
