Re: Replacing brake rotors and pads at the same time?
im doing to have my brakes done at new dimensions this coming thursday. i
was wondering is it worth upgrading to something else besides the stock brake
setup? i know cross drilled type rotors cant be turned but would it be worth
it getting upgraded pads and different rotors since it seems im changing the
rotor before the pad anyways? this is my first brake job at 67k. the
service advisor said that if i went to metalic type pads it could make
brakeing louder is this true and can anyone testify how much louder? when i
did get my tires changed at a local shop they told me the rotors were lipping
and that they were under specs. the advisor at new dimensions told me that
its possible for the rotor to be worn down before the pad does. most of the
weight of the car is in the front and put a big strain on the brakes. i was
always used to getting the rotors turned. what set up wouldnt give me an
increase of brake noise and same or better braking?
thanks in advance
