RE: Fuel economy

My experience is this...
(95 J3 GLX, Autotech SS Exhaust, K&N, Airbox mods)
I get 21-22mpg around town with "regular" acceleration. It drops to 19-20mpg
if I hammer it alot.

On rural backroads doing 45-50 mph for a long time I will get as
high as 30mpg. Doing 65-75 mph on the highway I get between 25 and 27,
depending on how many passes I make and such...

Gas plays a part in it. If you run that midwestern junk with that 5%
Alcohol, you will get less mpg than running straight gas. I haven't seen a
noticeable difference running premium or regular other than with premium
might get a little more hp...

As far as fuel economy, things to check:
-New/Clean Fuel Filter
-Maybe run a can of Techron through the lines to clean the valves/FI
-Check Spark plugs (or have dealer look at) They replaced mine at 30kmi
according to the service interval and indicated that they were in pretty bad
shape. These are pretty expensive to have replaced at the dealer because the
intake manifold has to come off to do the ones in back...
-Make sure your snow screen is clear/clean and that you have a clean air
filter, I recommend buying a K&N, comes with a 1,000,000 mile warranty and
gives some performance benefits...

Hope this all helps..
