Air Conditioner

My 94 GLX has been at the local VW dealer since last Tuesday.  It is there
to get the evaporator replaced.  They keep telling me they are looking all
over America for an evaporator but can't seem to find one.  Is this pure VW
Service bullshit or are they hard to get a hold of?  I've never dealt with
VW Service before this (I've always taken my VW's to this little German guy
to fix) and I can guarantee that this is the last time.  Has VW ever heard
of ordering a part before an appointment (considering I scheduled 7 days in
advance)?
