A4 Adaptive auto transmission

Hi all,

I am wondering about the auto trans on the A4 Jetta.  Does anyone on the
list knows how it works, i.e. how it adapts to one's driving?  Is the
"adaptive" just a marketing jargon?  Thanks in advance. :)
