Re: 18" or 17" rims?

I've heard that a 205/40/17 will not rub.  I'm not sure what width rim or
what offset.

I don't understand how a 18 x 8 inch rim/tire combo won't rub.  Even with
the fender lips rolled.  That's a big rim!  I wonder what size tire they
used?
